Dating ibanez bass
The Fender serial number decoder currently supports all documented MIA, MIJ, MIM, MIK and MII formats with the exception of Custom Shop, Relic and Reissue instruments.
Please note that fender serial numbers tend to overlap by at least a year, and thereby the date of your guitar can only be approximated.
But at same time it has very visible inlays and fret markers on the side of the neck.
Normally bass models ending in “00” are 4-string basses. 700 would indicate a mid range model and the “5” makes it a 5-string.
Models ending in “05” are 5-string basses and models ending in “06” are 6-string basses. This bass is part of my current stable of basses and was purchased in 2015. Ibanez is based in Japan, but like so many companies has off-shored their manufacturing. That said, there is really nothing to complain about with the build quality of this bass.
